Why Triangle Contractors Choose Red Hawk for Demo Work
Built for the Loads Demo Jobs Actually Produce
Demolition generates some of the heaviest, most mixed debris of any project type — concrete, block, lumber, drywall, metal, tile, shingles, all going in at once. You need a dumpster company that understands demo loads, not one that sends a residential bin and hopes it holds up.
Red Hawk handles demolition projects across the Triangle for contractors, GCs, and homeowners doing selective tear-downs and full gut jobs. We deliver the right size, place it where your crew needs it, and work around your demo schedule — not the other way around.

Demo Job Guide
Built for Contractors and Homeowners Running Demo Jobs
Demolition moves fast. Structure comes down, debris piles up, and a full container at the wrong moment costs you a full crew-day. Red Hawk keeps your timeline moving — same-day delivery, direct communication, and containers sized for the loads that actually come out of demo work.
Weight Guidance for Heavy Demo Loads
Concrete, brick, block, and dense masonry fill weight limits faster than they fill container volume. A 10-Yard container filled entirely with broken concrete will exceed the 2,000-lb limit long before it looks full.
Practical guidance: load heavier material in the first half of the container and mix in lighter C&D debris — wood framing, drywall, insulation — to balance the load. Avoid piling concrete in one corner or stacking it to the rail.
Swap-Outs for Large Demo Jobs
A full interior gut or structural teardown rarely fits in one container. The swap-out process is straightforward: when your container is full, call us. We deliver an empty container and haul the full one — usually same-day or next morning.
For large projects, tell us upfront when you book. We can schedule a pull-and-replace sequence in advance — particularly useful if you’re working against a timeline. GCs and demo subs running multi-day jobs should confirm swap-out windows at booking so we can hold availability.
What Demo Debris We Accept
- Drywall and plaster
- Dimensional lumber & engineered wood (OSB, LVL)
- Concrete (weight limits apply)
- Masonry — brick, block, mortar
- Metal framing — studs, track, structural steel
- Roofing shingles, felt paper & underlayment
- Mixed C&D debris — no sorting required
- Flooring, tile & carpet
What's Not Accepted — Know Before You Load
- Asbestos-containing materials (ACMs)
- Hazardous materials — solvents, chemicals, fuels
- Contaminated soil
- Paint of any kind
- Tires
- Lead-acid batteries
- Propane tanks
- Freon-containing appliances
Pre-1980 Structures: Assume ACMs Until Confirmed Otherwise
Asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) cannot go in a roll-off container under any circumstances. Common locations include pipe insulation, floor tile adhesive, ceiling texture, and roofing felts. If your demo job involves a pre-1980 structure, factor abatement into your timeline before scheduling the dumpster.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about demolition dumpster rental in the Triangle.
For interior gut jobs and partial demos, a 10-Yard often works. Full-structure teardowns — framing, sheathing, concrete — typically need a 20 or 30-yard. Mixed demo debris fills up fast. Call us if you’re unsure; we’d rather right-size you upfront than have you run out of room mid-project.
Most demo materials are fine: drywall, lumber, roofing shingles, concrete, block, brick, tile, metal framing, fixtures, and general mixed C&D debris. We handle the full scope of what a typical residential or commercial demolition generates.
Hazardous materials are off-limits: asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead paint, chemicals, oils, solvents, and regulated waste. If your project involves pre-1980 construction, confirm materials have been tested and cleared before loading.
If the dumpster sits on your property or a private jobsite, no permit is required. Street placement in Raleigh and most Triangle municipalities requires a right-of-way permit. We recommend on-site placement whenever possible to keep the project moving.
Concrete and masonry are dense — one pallet of concrete blocks can easily top 2,000 lbs. Our 30-yard allows up to 3 tons. For heavy concrete loads, plan on multiple hauls or call us. Mixed lumber, drywall, and metal is much lighter and rarely causes issues.
Yes — mixed C&D debris is fine. Lumber, drywall, metal, concrete, tile, and fixtures can all go in together. Keep hazardous materials out and you’re good to load.
Interior gut jobs with a full crew typically finish in 1–3 days. Full teardowns may run 5–7 days or longer. We offer 1-day, 3-day, and 7-day rentals. Extensions and swap-outs are available for large or phased demolition projects.
